This late winter, Naksan Beach will transform into a serene sanctuary of light and warmth. The "2026 Yangyang Naksan Beach Moonlight Bonfire Festival," hosted by Yangyang County and organized by the Yangyang Cultural Foundation, is set to take place from February 28 to March 1 at the Naksan Beach Area B (sandy beach in front of the Administrative Service Office).

Breaking away from flashy performances and grand stages, this festival focuses on "sensory romance." Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the quiet tranquility of the winter sea, where the rhythmic sound of crashing waves meets the soothing crackle of burning logs under the soft glow of the moonlight.

A Private Escape: The Moonlight Bonfire Zone

The highlight of the festival is the "Moonlight Bonfire Zone," a dedicated space designed for families and couples to enjoy a private campfire experience.

Details: 80 spots are available per day at a fee of 10,000 KRW.

Reservations: 60 spots can be reserved in advance via the "Gogo Yangyang" app on a first-come, first-served basis, while the remaining 20 spots are available for on-site registration.

Benefits: Participants will receive skewers, sweet potatoes, and corn to roast. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own ingredients for a DIY barbecue, adding a cozy camping vibe to the beach.

Soulful Programs and Honest Flavors

Beyond the fire, the festival offers a variety of emotional and creative activities:

Acoustic Busking: Live music that harmonizes with the sound of the ocean.

Moon Rabbit Photo Zone: A picturesque spot to take photos against a giant full moon backdrop.

DIY Neon Face Painting: A fun way for visitors to express their individuality in the dark.

For food lovers, a "Winter Snack Market" featuring local sellers will offer seasonal favorites like Hotteok (sweet pancakes), scorched rice ramen, Tteokbokki, and sundae skewers. To ensure a stress-free experience, all prices are disclosed in advance to prevent overcharging, allowing guests to enjoy the local flavors at reasonable rates.

"This festival focuses more on the personal sensations and romance felt by participants rather than just being a show to watch," said an official from the Yangyang Cultural Foundation. "We hope visitors create warm, lasting memories of a winter night at Naksan Beach."

The festival runs from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. For more information, please visit the Yangyang Cultural Foundation’s official channels.
